You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to AML Counseling and Wellness because they're feeling overwhelmed, burned out, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or tired of wondering if they're doing life "the right way." Others are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply want a space to better understand themselves.
Therapy is an opportunity to slow down, gain clarity, build practical tools, and create meaningful change that reflects your values instead of everyone else's expectations.

A.M.L. Counseling & Wellness takes a whole-person approach to mental health. While individual counseling is at the center of the practice, emotional well-being doesn't exist separately from your body, relationships, identity, culture, community, or the experiences that have shaped you.
That's why A.M.L. extends beyond traditional counseling. Alongside virtual therapy for adults throughout North Carolina, the practice offers accessible trauma-informed yoga, mental health education, groups, workshops, and community experiences with the intent of creating different opportunities to process, learn, move, reflect, and connect.
The work is grounded in Authenticity, Meaning, and Living Purposefully, alongside Awareness, Acceptance, and Action. The goal isn't to tell you who to become or what decisions to make, but to help you better understand yourself and make intentional choices about the life you want to build.

Many of my clients describe feeling like they're constantly trying to "get life right." They overthink decisions, compare themselves to others, struggle to set boundaries, put everyone else's needs before their own, or feel like they should be further along than they are. Some are navigating anxiety, burnout, identity, relationships, or major life transitions. Others simply know something needs to change but aren't sure where to begin.
If you're looking for a therapist who will help you better understand yourself while also challenging you to put that understanding into action, we may be a good fit.

Trauma-informed yoga offers a different way to approach movement by emphasizing choice, present-moment awareness, and your experience in your own body rather than performing poses a certain way. At Yoga at A.M.L., you're invited to decide how and whether you participate, with options offered throughout the practice.
No previous yoga experience is required. Yoga at A.M.L. was created with accessibility in mind, including beginners and people who may not have traditionally seen themselves represented in yoga spaces. You don't need special equipment, expensive workout clothes, a certain body type, flexibility, or a particular spiritual practice to participate.
Classes are offered virtually so you can practice from home, with low-cost options designed to reduce financial barriers. Whether you're interested in supporting your mental health, reconnecting with your body, slowing down, exploring movement, or deepening a personal or spiritual practice, there's space for you here.
